About[]
Written by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, and published by Commonplace Books, "Welcome to Night Vale" is a bimonthly podcast that broadcasts fictional "community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events." It contains themes of dark fantasy, surrealism, satire, Lovecraftian storytelling (think Cthulu... everywhere), and nothing else. This is a good town. A nice town. The helicopters have begun circling.
The podcast's pilot episode was first released on June 15. There are now 32 and counting, 20 to 25 minute-long episodes availibe on iTunes, Stitcher, Feedburner, and Soundcloud. Visit the wikia content page for a guide to all the things you ever wanted to know about the podcast. Or don't. You might not exist, anyway.
